From the house.

None of these cars is in a showroom. David Szabo finds them where they are used: a red Ferrari F40 parked beside a private jet beneath the mountains, a white Porsche stopped by an alpine lake with a racing helmet on the roof, a Lancia waiting under a timber building as the snow comes down. In Ski Weekend the skis are already on the roof rack of a Porsche Carrera.

Emma Tysinger comes closer. A bouquet rests on the bonnet of a pale Volkswagen Beetle; a red Fiat fills an Italian street beneath two church towers. Between them sits David Szabo’s Second Service: two wooden tennis rackets against the chrome bumper of a green classic car, an afternoon that has not quite started.

Choosing your photograph.

Decide first how much car you want. Some of these photographs give the car the whole frame, like the Fiat in A Small Italian Entrance or the F40 in The Long Way Round. Others make it the smallest thing in a large landscape: the red car on The Hairpin, the dark Porsche beneath a lit ridge in Cold Start. The first kind reads from across a room; the second rewards a wall you can stand close to.

Most are portrait, which suits a hallway or the wall beside a door. Cold Start and The Hairpin are wide and sit well above a sofa or a desk. Every photograph is printed to order on 308gsm Hahnemühle Photo Rag with archival pigment inks, in six house sizes from Collectors to Grand, unframed or in a black, white or wood frame.
