Summer photography prints.

Parasols by the water, palms against the sky, cards on a striped towel and tables with a sea view. Emma Tysinger’s summer selection follows the pleasures of being away. Coastal photographs, street details and long pauses in the sun, ready to stay beyond the holiday.

From the house.

The plans can wait. A towel, a few cards and a glass in the sun have already made a persuasive case for staying put. Elsewhere, swimmers head for blue water, boats sit in the harbour and a row of tables waits above the sea. Emma Tysinger finds the holiday in both the landscape and its smaller arrangements.

This selection follows a summer mood across coastal views, lakes, cafés and streets. It includes photographs from Hawaii, the French Riviera, Greece and Croatia, alongside other scenes of travel and leisure. Palm shadows, wooded shores and pale cliffs bring the scale; a scooter, a life ring or a pair of chairs supplies the detail.

Choosing your photograph.

Decide which part of a holiday you want to keep looking at. Open water, palms and wooded lakes give the wall a longer view. Café fronts, cars and harbour boats offer more detail and colour. The cards and towel make a closer still life, while the sea-view tables provide a landscape composition for a wider space.

Most of the photographs are portrait format, so check the image shape as well as its dimensions. Pair a close detail with a wider view to vary the scale, then use one frame finish to connect them. For a kitchen or dining corner, choose a dry wall away from heat, splashes and prolonged direct sunlight.
