David Szabo
David Szabo photographs alpine life with an architect's eye: classic cars, winter streets and the light that gives a place its character.

From the house.
A hallway photograph is first seen on the move. This selection leans towards portrait compositions, graphic facades, lift lines and recognisable shapes. There is detail for a closer look, but the photograph should still hold its own from the other end of the hall.
Choosing your photograph.
Emma Tysinger’s The Red Way Up gives a pale mountain view a clear point of focus: a red cable car crossing the sky. Warm Facade offers a stronger field of architectural colour; David Szabó’s A little colour pairs a yellow car with blue shutters. Compare the way each photograph reads from a few steps away.
Measure the clear width between doors, switches and furniture. A portrait photograph suits a narrow stretch of wall, but leave enough space around the frame for the picture to read from the doorway. In a hallway with little daylight, compare a pale composition with a darker one on the product page. Use the finished dimensions shown with each work when measuring.
