Ski chalet wall art.

Lift lines, piste signs, a timber hut with the skis left outside and a village under fresh snow. Winter photographs by Emma Tysinger and David Szabo, chosen for the walls of a ski chalet, printed to order and framed by hand.

From the house.

The right photographs for a chalet are of the day outside it. Emma Tysinger follows that day from the first lift to the last chair: a red cable car crossing above the village in The Valley Below, red deckchairs facing the slopes in One More Break, a timber hut with a rack of skis outside in Lunch at Altitude. Snow from the Terrace is the view at the end of it, past a railing heavy with snow to chalets fading into the weather.

David Szabo brings the cars that make the journey. A dark car on an icy clearing beneath a sunlit ridge in Cold Start, a white one beneath a timber building as the snow comes down in Snow Line, skis and poles on a roof rack in Ski Weekend. His Up in the Air, two chair lifts in black and white, sits beside Emma Tysinger’s quieter studies of cables, trees and snow.

Choosing your photograph.

Give the long walls to the wide photographs. The Valley Below, Above the Weather, Room to Fly and Snow from the Terrace all run horizontally, and suit the space above a sofa or a dining table. The portrait lift photographs (The Red Way Up, A Small Yellow Journey, The Long Ascent) hang well in a line along a corridor or beside the boot room door.

Against timber, black frames hold their edge and white frames read as snow; a wood frame can disappear into pine panelling. Every photograph is printed to order on 308gsm Hahnemühle Photo Rag with archival pigment inks, in six house sizes from Collectors to Grand, and delivered free.
